The total development has an investment of over $7 Billion and there are over 200 kilometres of biking and walking paths will connect the full community to promote safe active living for all residents.
Plans for the Aura city centre include a major shopping centre, a train station to connect the city with Brisbane sporting grounds and an 11-hectare central park inspired by Brisbane’s popular Southbank area.

Aura Caloundra South can be considered a good place to live and people have been living in the area for a while now. Here is an overview of what to expect from Aura now and in the years to come:
• Caloundra South is a new community being developed by Stockland over the next 30 years.
• This area will feature 20000 new homes and is situated just south of the existing suburb of Bells Reach, near Caloundra.
• Of the total 2360 hectares, 700 hectares will be replanted as a conservation zone with parks and nature reserves.
• Stockland has agreed to construct a new road connecting Caloundra Road to the Bruce Highway, to improve transportation infrastructure.
• They estimate that the development will create 1700 jobs in the first year and 18500 jobs over the first 10 years.
• By 2023 plans include building a city centre and an urban parkland similar to Brisbane's South Bank.
• The Queensland government has protected a corridor for a potential future passenger rail line from Caboolture.
• Two infrastructure agreements between the Queensland Government Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Stockland outline contributions each party will make towards roads, utilities, facilities, parks and more.
• Plans call for 25 education facilities including schools, preschools and education centres.
• An additional 20 community facilities will also be built.
• There will be a focus on parks, open spaces and cycleways with over 200 kilometres of cycleways included.
AAs the community takes shape, plans for a central city area with shops, dining, entertainment and even a large lagoon are also progressing. This city centre aims to become the vibrant "beating heart" of Aura where residents can gather and connect with each other. The lagoon project draws inspiration from the popular South Bank district in Brisbane.
A key sustainability feature is Aura's focus on water management. The community will utilise rainwater harvesting and special vegetation to filter and treat water before it drains into the nearby Pumicestone Passage.
